Good news for you NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet LTE owners... your Lollipop update is inbound!

Since Google officially released Lollipop, we almost immediately started seeing manufacturers push the update out to their devices. We’ve seen Motorola Moto X Pure Edition and Moto G (2nd Gen.) both get updated, and we’ve even seen NVIDIA push the update out to the Wifi version of the SHIELD Tablet. With promise of the update hitting the LTE variant soon after, NVIDIA has kept its word. Adopters of the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet LTE should be seeing an OTA update for Android 5.0 Lollipop sometime this weekend!

The company announced the news via Twitter earlier today. The tweet reads,

Better than ever:#NVIDIASHIELD Tablet LTE, the first US LTE tablet running Android 5.0 Lollipop! Upgrade now via system settings.

All of the normal stuff is coming with the Lollipop update – revamped UI, improved notification handling, more security features – everything. But NVIDIA users get a few extra features like improvements to the Dabbler drawing app, Shield Hub app, and support for GRID, the company’s new streaming service.

We’re excited to see so many companies put out the update so quickly. Have you gotten the update to your SHIELD Tablet yet? Let us know how you like it!
