Android 5.0 Lollipop rolling out to NVIDIA Shield
While many Nexus owners have yet to see Android 5.0 Lollipop roll out over the air, we’ve already seen quite a few third party manufacturers promise timely updates with Motorola being the very to deliver the goods to non-Nexus devices with an update for the Moto X Pure Edition and the 2nd-gen Moto G. Now it looks like it is NVIDIA’s turn.
We’ve known for at least two weeks about NVIDIA’s plans to bring Lollipop to the Shield tablet right away, and just last week they confirmed that November 18th would be the big day. True to their word, the OTA is now reportedly pushing out for owners of the Wi-Fi only model. For those with the LTE variant, however, the update is reportedly ready but awaiting carrier certification.
While Android 5.0 Lollipop is certainly one of the biggest changes in this update, that’s not all the new features coming to the Shield tablet. This includes improvements to the Dabbler drawing app, Shield Hub app, and support for Grid, a new streaming service that lets users play full version of 20+ games for the PC right from their tablet.
Have you received your update to Lollipop yet on your Shield tablet? If so, let us know what you think in the comments.
