You can now invite friends to join you on Miitomo via SMS or email
Nintendo’s ridiculously popular Android debut, Miitomo, has just been updated to v1.2 and has introduced a bunch of new features, including the rather nifty ability to invite friends to the game via SMS or email.
Other updates in v1.2 include the ability to edit existing Miifotos before uploading them to comments, the ability to add or reject friend requests within the comments or heart list, a new “Answer” option has been added to “All answers” and some bug fixes and performance enhancements.
Miitomo was a surprise hit globally, with over a million installs in Japan in its first three days and over four million a few weeks later. It launched in the U.S. and other countries at the end of March and is reportedly earning Nintendo more than a million dollars a month.
For the uninitiated, Miitomo is a simple avatar-based “game” where you create a digital likeness, answer questions and have your responses shared with your friends. It’s meant to be a fun way to learn unexpected things about one another. There’s some in-app purchase action for buying funky clothing and a mini-game to lighten the Miinterrogation.
Are you on Miitomo? What do you like/dislike about it?
