Meta's newest smart glasses are its most affordable ones yet

Alongside its new camera-free smart glasses, Meta has also launched several new versions of its camera-equipped glasses. The lineup includes new third-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses, special collaborations, and a new, affordable pair of Meta Glasses.

Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3)

The third generation of Meta’s Ray-Ban-branded smart glasses keeps the same 12MP camera with 3K video recording capability, but in a slimmer design. Meta says the glasses are more comfortable to wear and come in more styles and color options than ever.

The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) smart glasses come in three styles: Aviator, Wayfarer, and a new cat-eye frame called Zena. The company also launched a new limited-edition pair of aviator-style glasses in a vintage color to mark the 90th anniversary of the Ray-Ban Aviator design.

Key improvements in the third-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses include an upgraded battery that offers up to nine hours of runtime, a new six-mic array for better noise cancelation, and new professionally adjustable temple tips for a better fit.

Meta also announced that an update later this year will enable users to capture video in Dolby Atmos with 360-degree spatial sound. It didn’t specify whether Dolby Atmos support will be available on older smart glasses, but it’s likely that only the latest Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses will support the feature.

The third-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are available right now and start at $449.

Refreshed Meta Glasses

Meta also announced new versions of the Meta Glasses. For starters, the Kylie Edition Meta Glasses are now available in a new Ivory color at the same $399 price. Meta also collaborated with LISA to design new Meta Glasses with custom touches like LISA’s star design on the case and frames, plus special-edition case charms inspired by LISA’s pets.

These new smart glasses are available in two styles: Meta Adventurer LISA Edition and Meta Capri LISA Edition. Both styles start at $399 and support prescription lenses.

When Meta launched the Meta Glasses without the Ray-Ban branding, it offered them at a reduced price of $299. Now, the company is taking it a step further with the new Meta Adventurer glasses, which come with a plug-in case starting at $249. You can pre-order them right now, and they will go on sale on October 23.
