TL;DR
  • Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu now has an AliExpress store.
  • The Meizu AliExpress store will enable people from all over the globe to buy Meizu products.
  • Meizu makes cheap, back-to-basics smartphones.

Meizu is a Chinese phone manufacturer that doesn’t get much press here in the United States. Even here at Android Authority, we talk a lot about Chinese companies like OnePlus, Oppo, Huawei, and Xiaomi, but Meizu gets mentioned infrequently.

One of the reasons Meizu gets a bit shafted is because it’s not easy for our global audience to obtain Meizu devices. That changes today with the official opening of a Meizu-branded shop on AliExpress.

With an AliExpress listing, customers from all over the world can order Meizu products to ship to their local area. The only downside is that shipping fees can be pretty exorbitant, depending on where you live.

However, the high shipping costs could be a wash, because Meizu devices are so cheap. The upcoming Meizu 15 Plus, for example, has an Exynos 8895 Octa-Core processor, dual rear cameras, a 3,500mAh battery, a front-facing fingerprint sensor, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. That device will cost you only about $370.

Since the Meizu store is under the AliExpress banner, you also get the benefit of a six-month warranty with your purchase. However, if you need to turn the phone over to file a warranty claim, you’ll have to pay for shipping back to China, which could be pricey.

Meizu fans appreciate the simple, back-to-basics design of its products. If it seems like trying out a Meizu phone might be for you, head to the new store by clicking the button below.
