Apple WWDC 2020 iOS apps
TL;DR
  • Many apps on iOS devices are crashing right now.
  • The apps affected included Spotify, Pinterest, and Waze.
  • A Facebook login issue may the cause of the iOS apps crashing.

Many iPhone and iPad owners are currently reporting problems with iOS apps crashing on their devices. Downdetector shows that crashing reports are being filed for many popular apps and services, including Spotify, Pinterest, Tinder, Waze, and DraftKings. Mobile games like Marvel: Contest of Champions are being affected as well.

The problem appears to be linked to a Facebook login issue. According to a post on the Facebook developers site, the social network is “aware and investigating an increase in errors on the iOS SDK which is causing some apps to crash.”  At the moment, this issue is not affecting the Android versions of these apps.

We will update this post when more information is revealed. A good way to sidestep the issue is to use a VPN on your smartphone. Check out our favorite free VPNs right here.
