HUAWEI expands its smartwatch lineup with Watch Fit 3 and Watch 4 Pro Space Edition

HUAWEI has just announced a slew of new products for the European markets. The company has updated its smartwatch lineup and also added new models to its Matebook laptop line.

HUAWEI Watch Fit 3

HUAWEI’s popular Band series offers one of the most spacious screen experiences among fitness trackers. Noting similarities between the Band and existing Watch Fit designs, HUAWEI has redesigned the Watch Fit 3 with a square form factor. However, it now shares a high degree of resemblance with the Apple Watch in its overall shape and crown placement.

The Watch Fit 3 is available in a single size. It features an aluminum body weighing 26g and a 1.82-inch OLED display with a reported peak brightness of 1500 nits. HUAWEI claims this exceeds the capabilities of competitors like the Versa 4 and Apple Watch SE 2.

The larger display allows for a redesigned user interface featuring larger fonts and more intuitive visuals designed for quick information access. Navigation incorporates a new rotating crown for tactile interaction. The watch supports Bluetooth calls, local music playback, SMS, and third-party app replies.

HUAWEI emphasizes the Watch Fit 3’s health and fitness capabilities, with 101 tracked sports modes, heart rate and SpO2 monitoring, and sleep tracking. It also includes activity recommendations, guided fitness animations, a calorie management feature, and an AI-powered running coach. Additionally, the device incorporates women’s health tracking functionality.

The Watch Fit 3 is available in various colors (Black, Pink, Green, Moon White, Grey, and Pearl White) with multiple strap options (leather, fluoroelastomer, and nylon). It comes with 5ATM water resistance and a battery life of up to 10 days with typical use or up to 7 days with heavy use. Quick charging offers a reported full day of power after a 10-minute charge.

HUAWEI Watch 4 Pro Space Edition

Alongside the Watch Fit 3, HUAWEI introduced the Watch 4 Pro Space Edition, constructed with premium materials for increased robustness. It features a sapphire glass cover for scratch resistance, a nano-microcrystalline ceramic bezel for additional protection, and an aerospace-grade titanium case with diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating.

Taking inspiration from space exploration, the Space Edition includes exclusive “Laval” watch faces, some of which display constellations corresponding to the user’s birthdate. It also includes a titanium band with ultra-wideband connectivity, though its current functionality is primarily limited to interacting with the Aito M9 car co-developed by HUAWEI.

Health and wellness remain a focus in the Watch 4 Pro Space Edition. It includes “Health Glance 2.0” technology, which monitors trends in metrics like ECG, SpO2, heart rate, stress levels, and sleep breathing patterns. Notably, the “Sleep Breathing Awareness” feature could signal potential sleep apnea, but HUAWEI clarifies this is a non-medical function.

The Watch 4 Pro Space Edition also offers “Health Community Services” to remotely monitor loved ones’ health data and includes trend analysis. eSIM support enables standalone calls and messaging. HUAWEI claims a battery life of up to 4.5 days in standard mode or up to 21 days in ultra-long battery mode.

Pricing and availability

The HUAWEI Watch Fit 3 and Watch 4 Pro Space Edition are compatible with both Android and iOS devices, and the HUAWEI Health app is coming to the Galaxy Store soon. Both watches will be available for pre-order throughout Europe and the UK starting today, with official sales commencing on May 22.

The base model of the HUAWEI Watch Fit 3 will retail for €159/£139.99, while the leather strap variant will be priced at €179/£159.99. The HUAWEI Watch 4 Pro Space Edition will carry a premium price tag of €649/£549.99.
