You’ve seen the rap video, now here’s HTC’s rock anthem

So, you thought HTC’s rap video parody was awkward? Doc G’s got nothing on HTCco-founders Peter Chou and Cher Wang rocking it out on stage at HTC’s year-end party in Taiwan.

So, you thought HTC’s rap video parody was awkward? Doc G’s got nothing on HTCco-founders Peter Chou and Cher Wang rocking it out on stage at HTC’s year-end party in Taiwan.

The entire performance has the vibe of a big karaoke party, especially when a bunch of other company executives join Chou and Wang on stage as backing vocals. Sadly, there’s no sighting of the new M9, like it happened two years ago, when Chou showed the unannounced M7 on stage and chanted its name to a cheering audience.

It’s good to see that leaders of a major technology corporation are willing to embarrass themselves a little in the name of company culture. And, awkward as it may be, HTC’s “We Are One” anthem embodies HTC’s current situation – the company’s future depends on the success of the One series, even though there are positive signs from other directions as well.
