A complete guide.

Ever had that experience when you totally forgot about calling your secretary to cancel an appointment? Or when you needed to set up a meeting with the wedding coordinators and you failed to remember the most important thing to do – calling them?

Fortunately for you, your Android handset can be used as a tool to remind you of such difficult-to-remember tasks. The Call Reminder Notes app for Android can probably help.

How It Works

Call Reminder Notes basically works like the built-in to-do list on your phone, except that it reminds you to call a particular person at a specific time. This way you will never again forget to set an appointment or call someone in the future. Another wonderful feature available for this application is the ability to make In Call Reminders.

In Call Reminders

In Call Reminders is a feature of the app that allows you to set reminders attached to a particular contact. For example, you want to tell your wife about getting a promotion and you’d love to celebrate it tonight. However, you are still in a meeting and you need to call her afterward. You can set up a reminder and attach it to your wife’s contact number. When you get a call from her or vice versa, a pop up message will appear with the reminder you just made.

The nice thing about this feature is that it pops the message even before you get to make or answer the call, making the conversation more spontaneous.

How to Set Call Reminders

Setting up a call reminder using Call Reminder Notes is actually easy.  You don’t need to be a genius.  Here are the quick steps for setting a reminder:

  1. Start by opening the application.
  2. Tap on Add Reminder.
  3. Start putting in your reminder, like: “call Rann about trip photos.”
  4. You may opt to use the timer or you may simply skip that part.
  5. Tap on Assign Reminder.

That is basically it! When you get a call or when you call that specific contact (Rann, in the case of our example), the reminder message will appear on your screen to remind you of the task. It is pretty nifty, considering that many of us often usually forget to tell someone something very important.

If you do decide to use the timer in the application, try setting the time at least 3 minutes earlier than the intended time of call. When the time comes, an alarm will sound off with the reminder on your home screen to inform you of such tasks.

Call Reminder Notes is a paid app on the Android Market, but for very small price (US$3.00), you get the handy convenience of being reminded about important stuff whenever you make or receive calls.  If you want to try it before purchasing the full version, a limited trial version is also available on the Android Market.

Have you tried the Call Reminder Notes application? How do you feel about it and would you recommend it?
