Pixel phones are still missing alarms, turning anxiety dreams into reality
Oct 27, 2026 — 5:06 PM ET

- Pixel owner reports two alarms in a row not going off.
- They received a notification that said, “Alarm automatically silenced. Your alarm went off and was automatically silenced after the duration you set.”
- Google is looking into the issue, which echoes past problems with Pixels and the Clock app.
Did you ever have that anxiety dream where you sleep through several alarms and miss something major? How about waking up to discover that it was not actually a dream? That’s an actual nightmare, and one that might be the result of a continued problem with the Clock app on Pixels.
On Reddit’s Pixel sub, a user reported that the two morning alarms they set did not make a sound. Instead, they got a message for each alarm that said “Alarm automatically silenced. Your alarm went off and was automatically silenced after the duration you set.” The poster said they did not adjust any settings to silence the alarms. The missed alarms were not without consequence, either — the Pixel owner said that the incident resulted in them being in “deep s**t with work.”
Some people in the sub suggested the original poster slept through the alarms or inadvertently set the volume low, but the poster insisted they did not. While they did concede that their phone storage is nearly full and so some apps might not function properly, there is some evidence that a bug could be to blame. Several people responded that they had the same or similar issues on the Pixel. Add to that the fact that Pixels have a long history of problems with alarms on the Clock app that have persisted since 2021.

One person responding to the original poster said: “We encountered that bug recently. We have many (6+) alarms each day, and one definitely did not emit any sound contrary to what it of course does usually. We were sitting right next to the phone, and when we checked it showed the same message that you saw.”
Solutions and suggestions given in the post include going into the app’s settings and changing the Silence option to Never, using a third-party app like Alarmy, and relying on an old-school alarm clock instead.
But, more to the point for Pixel owners, Google is on the case. The Pixel Community account posted, “Hey everyone, Pixel Support Team here. We sent a few of you a chat, so we could look into this a bit more. Please check it out and get back to us when you get the chance. Thanks!”
Android Authority has reached out to Google about the issue and we’ll update this story if we hear back. In the meantime, have you been the victim of the alarm on your Pixel failing? Let us know in the comments.
