Google Pixel 5 and 4a 5G
  • Google has confirmed that the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 are coming in the fall.
  • The Pixel 4a 5G will start at $499.
  • The two phones will be available in the likes of Australia, Europe, and North America.

Google has just announced the Pixel 4a, offering the same core experience as the Pixel 3a, but with a few meaningful upgrades. What if you want to future-proof your phone with 5G though? Google has two 5G Pixel phones for you.

The company confirmed it will launch the Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5 in the fall, while also noting that the Pixel 4a 5G will start at $499. There’s no word on pricing for the Pixel 5 just yet, but presumably it’s broadly in line with the Pixel 4.

Google also posted a teaser image of the two phones (seen at the top of the article), being virtually identical to a leaked picture posted over the weekend. It’s believed that the Google Pixel 5 is on the left and the Pixel 4a 5G is on the right, with the former device sporting a brushed metal design.

Google also revealed that the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Taiwan, the UK, and the US. Pixel flagships are usually launched in October, so we’re expecting a similar launch window for the two 5G models.

Can’t wait until then to get your hands on a new Pixel? Well, the 4G-enabled Pixel 4a is certainly looking like a good deal at $350, packing 128GB of storage, a Snapdragon 730G chipset, and great image quality. You can check out all our Pixel 4a coverage in the list below.
