Google Lane Guidance

Navigation assist is a really helpful feature for drivers out there, but missing a junction because you’re in the wrong lane can still lead to the occasional headache. Fortunately, Google has updated its Maps app with lane guidance for highways in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK and Ireland, meaning that you’ll never miss your exit again.

When making use of turn-by-turn navigation mode, Maps will now keep you informed about which lane to stay in or move to as you approach your exit. Voice alerts can also be used to notify you of which lane you should be in and alternative routes can now also be picked from the same view. To enter turn-by-turn navigation, simply enable GPS on your phone and enter your route in Google Maps. Touch the navigation icon and you’re on your way.

If you are planning any trips this holiday season, Google Maps’ lane guidance feature will make it a handy travelling companion.
