Google Drive is down for many users today (Update: working again)

If you’ve tried to access Google Drive at any point today, you may have noticed that the service seems to be unresponsive. The company’s cloud-based service is currently experiencing issues that are affecting many people who depend on it to get their work done.

The problems with Google Drive started around 11 a.m. Eastern time today. Google admitted about 40 minutes later in its service alert that it is “investigating reports of an issue” with Drive, and that the issue is affecting less than 10.3% of users. The company also stated that the problem might also affect people who use Google Keep and Google Classroom, both of which use Drive as part of their services.
