Google is adding in some new features in Search that aim to help people learn more about certain subjects more quickly. One of these new features concerns what the company calls Featured Snippets, which sometimes appear when you type in some specific search terms like “Baby Spider Monkey”.

Previously, Google Search might have displayed a text article relating to the topic, or maybe an image. Now, Featured Snippets will include more images of the subject, along with links to related search topics on the bottom.

Google is adding some related searches in other areas as well. Knowledge Panels will now show related searches for some subjects. For example, if you are looking up information about skiing (perhaps to prepare for the 2018 Olympic games), you might see some related searches pop up in the Google Knowledge Panel on that subject, directing you to downhill skiing, snowboarding, and more.

Finally, if you are searching for information in Google and type in two things that are in the same subject matter, such as “Neymar” and “Messi” for soccer players, you may also see related searches show up on top. Thus, with this example, you might see related search links for players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Zinedine Zidane.
