When summertime events roll around in Genshin Impact, you can expect to see limited-time areas like the Golden Apple Archipelago. First introduced back in Version 1.6, the Golden Apple Archipelago is a familiar fan-favorite location. Let’s review how to get to the Golden Apple Archipelago when available.

How to unlock the Golden Apple Archipelago
The Golden Apple Archipelago limited event region was most recently available from July 15 to August 24, 2022. It has since disappeared from the World Map.
To get there, you had to qualify for the Summertime Odyssey event. This meant being at least Adventure Rank 32 (AR32), clearing the story past Chapter 2: Prologue Archon Quest, and clearing Mona’s Story Quest (“Beyond This World’s Stars”).
How to reach Adventure Rank 32 (AR32)
To reach the Golden Apple Archipelago, you had to be at least AR32. To increase your AR, you could:
- Clear all available Archon Quests
- Clear all available World Quests
- Do all four Daily Commissions every day
- Clearing Commissions allows you to obtain Story Keys; use these to unlock and clear all available Story Quests
- Defeat all available Weekly Bosses and claim the rewards with Resin
How to unlock Mona’s Story Quest
You could actually bypass the requirement to clear Mona‘s Story Quest with the Quick Start button on the event. That said, clearing Mona’s Story Quest enhanced the narrative in Summertime Odyssey—particularly Mona’s arc.
To unlock Mona’s Story Quest, you must collect (and use) a Story Key. Launch Genshin Impact on your device, then open the Quests menu.
Next, go to Story Quests.
Within the Story Quest menu, you can see your current Story Key total in the top right. You can only have three at once.
You must complete eight Daily Commissions to claim a Story Key. Once you’ve done that, click the Claim button in the bottom right to claim that Story Key.
Your Story Key total should increase by one in the top right. Use that Story Key to unlock Mona’s Story Quest.
How to get to the Golden Apple Archipelago (PC/Mobile/PlayStation)
If you leave the Golden Apple Archipelago during the event, you can fast-travel back there. Furthermore, if you leave in the middle of a quest, the game will save your progress, and you can continue that quest line when you return.
Step 1
Launch Genshin Impact on your device of choice. In-game, use the World Map button to open your map.
Step 2
Within the World Map, press the Primogem-shaped Regions button.
Step 3
From the options available, select Golden Apple Archipelago.
Step 4
Use the available Teleport Waypoints you've unlocked to fast-travel there.

This region was only available for the duration of the summer event. With the conclusion of the Summer 2022 event, it is now gone. It will become available again if it is featured as part of a limited event—or if it becomes playable permanently.
