- Batteries believed to belong to the Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro have appeared in South Korea’s Safety Korea certification database.
- Earlier regulatory filings suggest the phones could feature 5,700mAh and 5,200mAh batteries, respectively.
- The batteries are pre-production units, and Samsung has not yet confirmed the phones’ final specifications.
Is Samsung about to make a battery breakthrough with the Galaxy S27 series? We’ve heard rumors about everything from a massive 7,000mAh prototype for the Ultra to the possibility of silicon-carbon batteries. While the bigger battery dreams may not materialize, fresh certification photos have surfaced, giving us our first look at the batteries believed to be destined for the Galaxy S27 Ultra and its rumored Pro sibling.
Notebookcheck spotted two batteries linked to the upcoming phones in South Korea’s Safety Korea certification database. They’re identified by model numbers EB-BS958DBY and EB-BS957CBY, under certification numbers YU10899-26034 and YU10899-26036, respectively. Both are manufactured by China-based Zhuhai CosMX Power Jinwan Subsidiary.
Unfortunately, the capacities aren’t legible in the photos, but we already have some clues thanks to earlier Chinese regulatory filings. The Galaxy S27 Ultra battery reportedly has a rated capacity of 5,534mAh, which could translate to a typical capacity of around 5,700mAh. Meanwhile, the rumored S27 Pro’s 5,087mAh unit could be advertised as 5,200mAh.
That would give both phones larger batteries than the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 5,000mAh unit, with the S27 Ultra potentially enjoying a 14% capacity increase. Samsung is also rumored to be adopting silicon-carbon technology, which could help accommodate those larger capacities without making the phones significantly bulkier.
Beyond battery life, previous certifications have pointed to 60W wired charging for both models, matching the S26 Ultra.
Still, these are pre-production batteries, and Samsung hasn’t confirmed final specifications — or even the existence of the rumored Pro model. We’ll have to see how much of this makes it into the finished phones.
