How to delete your Dropbox account

Dropbox is a popular cloud storage service, but many competitors are out there, with many offering cheaper premium plans or more free storage. Dropbox has also been subject to a few security issues over the years. You might not want to keep your Dropbox account for whatever reason. Here’s how to delete your Dropbox account.

To delete your Dropbox account, log in to your account on the Dropbox website, click on the profile icon at the top right corner, and go to Settings. Go to the General tab and click on Delete account. Confirm your selection and click on Permanently delete.

You won’t be able to delete your Dropbox account using mobile or desktop apps. Instead, you will have to log in to the Dropbox website. Once you log in, click on your profile icon at the top right corner and go to Settings.

Go to the General tab and scroll down to the Delete account section. Click on Delete account. You will have to enter your password, and you can choose why you want to delete the account. Click Permanently delete to confirm.

You will lose access to your account, and any files and folders you aren’t sharing will be permanently deleted after 60 days. However, you will still be unable to recover these files within the time. You and other collaborators can still access shared folders, but you won’t be able to edit them anymore. Remember that you cannot recover a deleted account, so make sure you download any essential files you’ve stored.
