🌅 Good Morning. Welcome back to Daily Authority. MWC 2023 is underway in Barcelona, and we got to experience some great tech from companies big and small. We’ve rounded up all of the best products from the show for you. We’ve also got some exciting news from Nothing, the global launch of an ultra-fast-charging phone, and lots more! So let’s get started.

The best tech from MWC 2023

Every year, the Mobile World Congress introduces some of the best products tech companies have to offer. From smartphones to tablets to laptops and beyond — these gadgets bring innovation like you’ve never seen it before. At Android Authority, we like to give credit where credit is due. So in that spirit, here are the top devices that caught our team’s eye and grabbed our attention at the event.

We saw them rollin…

• When it comes to flexible rolling displays, Lenovo was boss at MWC 2023.
• It brought a rollable concept laptop to the show — one of the most interesting things we saw at the event.
• Lenovo-owned Motorola also stole the show with its Rizr rollable concept phone.
• The handset has a 5-inch compact phone with a foldable display that rolls up and extends to reveal a full 6.5-inch panel. Pretty neat!

Impressive phones you can actually buy

• Nokia may not be everyone’s favorite smartphone brand right now, but at MWC 2023, it grabbed eyeballs with the new Nokia G22.
• What’s interesting about this budget Android phone is that it comes with an iFixit repair kit.
• Using the “Fix Kit,” users can replace the phone’s battery, display, back cover, or charging port in roughly five minutes.
• Good on you, HMD Global.
• Another magical phone that colored us impressed was the HONOR Magic 5 Pro. The phone boasts an insane spec sheet.
• The Xiaomi 13 Pro showed us that the company is maturing in the right direction.
• Its highlight is the triple-50MP camera setup headlined by the 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor.
• The Realme GT3 also won our favor for its 240W fast-charging speeds and beefy specs.
• Lastly, the HONOR’s Magic Vs foldable brought a commendable design, a screen with minimal creasing, and a flexible camera setup we really liked.

Looking beyond phones and to the future

• There’s tech that you see, and then there’s tech that runs the show behind the scenes. One such technology we saw at MWC this year was NuraLogix’s health assessment system.
• NuraLogix’s tech can analyze over 30 vitals with just a selfie video.
• It works on any smartphone by analyzing the user’s facial blood flow and using AI to compare it against a database of thousands of patients.
• The software can provide assessments for cardiovascular health, diabetes risk, and more, with a claimed 95% accuracy rate.
• Who needs to go to a doctor when you have something like this — Am-I-right?
• Qualcomm also showcased some pretty cool AI tech that can run on its flagship chip.
• It allows text-to-image generation using AI by running the entire process on-device.
• That means you don’t need the internet to create pictures out of thin air.
• We used the tech to create a Mona Lisa painting in the style of Pablo Picasso.

Check this out —ARCHOS has built a security camera that doesn’t need wires, not even for power! This is the first truly wireless security camera. So how does it do it?

The ARCHOS Cota Wireless Power Security Camera is powered by wireless technology from Ossia.

• These wireless indoor security cameras can be placed anywhere within 30 feet (9m) of a base transmitter that supplies power over the air.
• The technology isn’t super powerful in terms of wattage; it only supplies about 2W of power at a range of two meters and mere milliwatts at up to 10 meters.
• Its application flexibility, such as placing security cameras in otherwise impossible-to-wire places, makes the technology so useful.
• The security cameras don’t have to have line of sight of each other.
• The base can also transmit power through glass, sheet, rock, and wood, but not bricks or cement.
• Ossia’s technology works in the common 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless bands, used by your home Wi-Fi, which has helped it secure certification for use in 66 countries.
