BLU announces the vivo 5 and vivo XL at CES 2016
BLU normally has no problem releasing a number of premium smartphones at low price points, and it looks like the Florida-based smartphone maker has just unveiled two more. Here at CES 2016 in Las Vegas, BLU has just taken the wraps off the next two devices in the popular vivo line – the vivo 5 and vivo XL. Both of these devices come with Super AMOLED displays, octa-core MediaTek processors and a metal unibody design that we don’t see too often at this price point. Wondering what else these phones have to offer? Let’s jump right in.
BLU vivo 5
BLU’s vivo 5 is the fifth generation device in the vivo series. It comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 resolution, a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek 6753 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There’s also a 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 3150mAh battery and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. BLU says it has plans to upgrade both the vivo 5 and vivo XL to Marshmallow in the near future, so hopefully early adopters won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on the latest version of Android. This is also a 4G LTE-capable device with dual SIM card slots.
It’ll be available in White-Silver and Solid Gold color options at launch in February on Amazon and BestBuy.com for only $199.00.
BLU vivo XL
The main differences between the the vivo 5 and vivo XL are in construction materials and memory options. The specs of the XL are nearly identical to those found on the vivo 5, though the XL comes with just 16GB of internal storage, microSD expansion and 2GB of RAM. Additionally, the XL sports a mirror-like finish that wraps around the device, along with a unique pattern that brings some extra flair to the phone.
The vivo XL will be available in Liquid Gold, Chrome Silver, Midnight Blue and Rose Gold color options in January on Amazon and BestBuy.com for $149.00.
