Oct 7, 2026 — 10:16 AM ET

- Leaked assets show off LG’s upcoming smart home accessories, including a deadbolt lock, thermostat, and temperature sensor, co-developed with Apple for its smart home ecosystem.
- The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock could feature a rotating keypad, audio alarms, and auto-unlocking, while the thermostat could feature a circular Far Sight Display paired with room-temperature sensors.
- This partnership could compete directly with Google Nest and Amazon by tightly integrating third-party hardware, such as locks, cameras, and doorbells, into Apple’s upcoming smart display ecosystem.
Apple’s smart home push is kicking into high gear. Rumors indicate that Apple’s smart display could finally arrive as early as this month, and a recent leak shed light on an unexpected hardware collaboration: Apple and LG are co-developing smart home accessories. Now, we have our first look at what that lineup actually entails.
Leaker pdfu on X has shared assets and details showcasing three upcoming LG accessories for Apple’s smart home ecosystem: a smart deadbolt lock, a smart thermostat, and a standalone temperature sensor.
The leaked LG Smart Deadbolt Lock stands out with a rotating keypad mechanism. According to settings surfaced in the leak, the lock features a “Touchpad Light Ring,” customizable “Lock Sound Volume,” and a “Door Left Audio Alarm” to warn users if the door remains unlatched. It is also slated to support automatic unlocking, presumably tapping into Apple Home Key and ultra-wideband (UWB) proximity features.
The companion LG Smart Thermostat looks to sport a clean, minimalist design with a circular display. Leaked settings reveal a “Far Sight Display,” humidity readouts, brightness, language options, and calibrated temperature offset adjustments. Alongside the thermostat, a compact LG Temperature Sensor appears designed for placement in different rooms to balance climate zones.
Earlier reporting noted that the Apple and LG joint venture spans a broader ecosystem, including indoor, outdoor, and floodlight cameras, as well as a video doorbell. While Apple’s smart display looks set to compete directly with Google Home and Amazon Echo hubs, these tightly integrated smart home accessories suggest Apple wants tighter control over the entire connected-home pipeline without manufacturing every sensor under its own badge. The leaked products specifically take on the Nest Yale Lock, the Google Nest Learning Thermostat, and the Google Nest Temperature Sensor.
Reports also suggest these LG-branded accessories might not ship immediately alongside Apple’s refreshed Apple TV 4K or HomePod hardware. However, Apple could still tease or officially announce the partnership during its home-focused event, rumored for October 13.
