What version of Android are you running? [Poll of the week]

Are you still running an older version of Android, or are you using a device with Marshmallow or Android N? Tell us in our latest Poll of the Week!

Last week’s poll summary: Out of over 4,400 total votes, 35% of our readers said they own a Google Cardboard viewer. A sizable 31% of our readers said they don't own a VR headset of any kind, while 17% of our readers own a Samsung Gear VR headset.

Android version numbers have been a pretty contentious topic in the smartphone world for some time. Some people have to be running the latest version of Android at all times, and other people couldn’t care less.

Even though last month’s Android distribution numbers only showed Marshmallow as running on 7.5% of all devices, that number has likely changed quite a bit since then. A handful of OEMs have been rolling out official Marshmallow updates to their devices recently, including OnePlus, Samsung, NVIDIA, HTC and others.

Food for thought: Does the average user care about Android versions? Should they?

There’s still a big variety of Android versions out there, with plenty of mid-range and lower-end devices running Lollipop and even KitKat. With that said, we’d like to know — what version of Android are you running? Are you running on the latest version of Android, or are you still using an older version like Jelly Bean or KitKat? Be sure cast your vote in the poll below, and if there’s something you need to add, feel free to speak up in the comment section. We look forward to hearing what you have to say!
