Stable Android 9 Pie and One UI rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S8 in India

If you own an Indian variant of the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, you’re about to get some sweet Android 9 Pie goodness. According to an Android Authority tipster, the stable version of Pie — skinned over with Samsung’s One UI — is rolling out now.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the oldest S-series device that will receive the Android 9 Pie upgrade, according to Samsung’s announced plans. With the relatively quick rollout of Pie, Samsung is proving that it is taking Android updates more seriously this time around.

As usual, the Android 9 Pie update to the Galaxy S8 includes a host of new Android updates as well as Samsung’s new design aesthetic and features baked into One UI. Check out the changelog screenshot below:

Per the screenshot, the Android 9 Pie upgrade weighs 1.6GB and also comes with the February Android security patch.
