TL;DR
  • Samsung released an update schedule for One UI 5.
  • The release schedule reveals that the update will arrive for one Galaxy S10 device.
  • The S10 phone getting the update will be the Galaxy S10 Lite.

Among all the Samsung phones expected to receive the One UI 5-flavored Android 13 update, the Galaxy S10 is one of the phones that will miss out. However, that won’t be the case for the entire S10 lineup. One of these phones will be upgraded and that phone is the Galaxy S10 Lite.

Samsung has begun rolling out the stable version of One UI 5, with the Galaxy S22 series getting first dibs. Outside of the initial release of the stable version, it was a bit fuzzy when to expect the update for the rest of Samsung’s portfolio. But Samsung cleared that up by releasing an update schedule on its EU community website.

The long list of phones reveals that the company plans for the Galaxy S10 Lite to receive the update sometime in December. While the Lite is probably not the S10 variant most people wanted One UI 5 to come to, Samsung is currently testing the operating system on the device, according to SamMobile.

Unlike other phones receiving the update, the Galaxy S10 Lite won’t be entered into Samsung’s One UI 5 beta program. The update will just arrive when Samsung deems it ready for the phone. So the company has a little bit of time to make sure the firmware is bug-free by the time it comes to the S10 Lite.

If you’re wondering why the Galaxy S10 Lite is eligible for One UI 5 and not the rest of the series, it’s because the S10 Lite launched with Android 10. Since it has Samsung’s three major OS updates guarantee, it qualifies for Android 13. The rest of the S10 line, unfortunately, shipped with Android 9, so they are not eligible.
