After announcing the rollout yesterday, Verizon began rolling out the LG V10 Marshmallow update today. The software version is VS99022A and delivers all the benefits of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to your beloved V10, including Google Now on Tap, granular app permissions, Doze Mode and much more.

To check for the update, head to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for update to see if the OTA is waiting for you. Neither the firmware itself nor the OTA link have been posted online yet, but it won’t be long until they appear on the likes of XDA Developers if you prefer the manual approach over waiting in line.

You'll want to make sure your battery is charged and you have sufficient storage space available, as a major Android update like this is sure to be pretty hefty. If you've rooted your V10 you might want to avoid installing the update until you know whether or not the update will break root.

Let us know when you get the update and share screenshots in the comments of the changelog!

    Nothing yet for me

T mobile with be last as usual. There has been a pattern lately that I have noticed. Verizon has been first with most updates to phones, then Sprint (sometimes Att beats them), then t-mobile. T-mobile has been consistently last though, smh! This is why I wish Google would add micro sd on the nexus so I could switch and never look back. No micro sd, no sale.

    • DrakenFX

Only reason i don’t go full Nexus is because of the SDCard don’t mind not having swappable battery ,but SDCard is a sale point for me.

I could not agree more. I do not need removable battery because I upgrade my phone too often but it would be nice! I do not believe in cloud for reliability. I use it for back up but it takes too long to load and sometimes is down! Not reliable!

Absolutely sdcard is a major must have

    • Sir Manny

      Totally agree with you

what makes me wanna kick myself is when i was with sprint, they were consistently first and verizon was always late with updates then i get tmobile…aaaand im hearing crickets chirp.

So Lg, when am I getting the 6.0 update on my v10?

    • Sir Manny

Do you have Verizon if not you’ll be waiting

    • ASYOUTHIA

      Ask your carrier

  • ASYOUTHIA

Still no dual window web browser support?

  • MoD33n

so im running an international unlocked V10 and still no MM update??? So LG claimed they were going to be rolling out MM before all the other OEMs… all smoke and mirrors if you ask me. feel utterly disappointed and let down by LG.

    • rewokir

Yeah, LG is one of, if not the worst manufacturer for updates. If you don’t have a carrier to make it a little bit faster, then you’re going to have a bad time.

      • MoD33n

The irony… Carrier update is faster than a standard update on a bloat free OEM phone :-(

Any suggestions on how to force the OTA update highly appreciated!

  • rewokir

I just downloaded the update… It is absolutely the same. I cannot find any difference, maybe I did something wrong or something. I’m not happy. I restarted the phone, but nothing. Also, my contacts app keeps saying, “Contacts being updated” or some bull like that.

  • taq

For T-Mobile, 6.0 is still in the development stages.

  • andwutnot

Aside from the actual OS updates, the biggest difference for me has been the fingerprint scanner. It is, thankfully, WAY more responsive.

  • KrackenVeteran

I just got the download thru Verizon and NOW I can’t unlock my phone via fingerprint!!!! Don’t remember the code and I have 5 attempts left!!! WTF!!!??? Any ideas???
