Bummer, Best Buy has indefinitely delayed shipments of HTC EVO 4G LTE

Bummer, Best Buy has indefinitely delayed shipments of HTC EVO 4G LTE

Potential owners of HTC EVO 4G LTE were supposed to be playing with their new device today, but due to the legal tussle between HTC and Apple, that dream is temporary shelved. It’s been an even bigger disappointment for Best Buy customers who have pre-ordered the phone. When word went out that shipments of  the HTC EVO 4G LTE have been held up in Customs, thus delaying the phone’s availability in the US, customers received confirmation emails from Best Buy that the phone would still be delivered on May 23. It looks like that’s not going to be the case now. We hate …

Best Buy Spills the Beans on the Droid 4 on Rewards Zone Site

Best Buy Spills the Beans on the Droid 4 on Rewards Zone Site

Looks like someone at Best Buy messed up! As you can tell from the picture above, Best Buy is advertising the Droid 4 on its Rewards Zone website, along with a flagship phone from the other three major US carriers. While Verizon put ice on the Droid 4 release date already, looks like someone at Verizon forgot to tell the folks at Best Buy. So the purchase of a Droid 4 won’t be earning you 5,000 Rewards points anytime soon, unfortunately, but for all you QWERTY fanatics out there, who cares? This isn’t the first time Best Buy has let things …

Best Buy sale on Android phones this holiday season

Best Buy sale on Android phones this holiday season

It would appear as though Best Buy are offering free hand-sets when you sign up for a new contract this holiday period. It is nice to see a US store offering what a lot of Europeans take for granted, and that is a free hand-set with your contract. There is one solitary Blackberry device on offer, but other than that, Android seems to be the platform of choice. Here is a run down of the devices on offer. HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon LG Optimus S on Sprint HTC Aria on AT&T Sony Ericsson Xperia on AT&T LG Ally on …

Motorola DROID 2 landing soon?

Motorola DROID 2 landing soon?

It looks like Motorola’s follow-up to its popular DROID handset, cleverly named the DROID 2, should be hitting store shelves soon.  Cases have already begun arriving at Best Buy stores for the new smartphone, so we expect that the formal launch announcement can’t be far behind. [via Engadget]

Verizon’s Motorola DROID X arriving at Best Buy early

One day ahead of launch, Verizon’s newest Android device, the DROID X, is arriving in Best Buy stores around the USA.  It is also being reported that the stores should have enough to cover pre-order sales placed before July 4th.  Before you make the trek, you may want to give your local store a call. The DROID X is a behemoth Android 2.1 powered smartphone with a massive 4.3-inch display that is the latest Android device being offered from Motorola for Verizon Wireless here in the States. Sprint Samsung Intercept M910 Android phone sold early at Best Buy Mobile

Sprint Samsung Intercept M910 Android phone sold early at Best Buy Mobile

The unreleased Samsung Intercept for Sprint seems to have been sold prematurely over at Best Buy Mobile.  The device, which is expected to be available on July 11, was sold accidentally by a Best Buy Mobile employee and has shown up on YouTube in all its glory.  The entry level smartphone sports Android 2.1, a 3.2-inch touchscreen, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that looks very much like the one found on Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S-based Epic 4G.

Micro HDMI dock for Sprint EVO heading to Best Buy

Micro HDMI dock for Sprint EVO heading to Best Buy

The EVO 4G is one of the original smartphones to include the new HDMI 1.4 standard via the Micro HDMI connection that it offers. There are varying reports on how good the HDMI 1.4 standard actually is and whether or not the EVO 4G offers a great HDMI experience. Indeed, as Android and Me point out, PCMag were “quite disappointed with the HDMI experience on the Sprint EVO 4G.” Issues with certain televisions only seeing the input as 480p as opposed to the full 1080p etc. made the experience unpalatable. Anyway, reorienting ourselves back to the dock, Best Buy are …

Motorola Devour now available at Best Buy for $99, DROID drops to $49 at Amazon

The Motorola Devour for Verizon Wireless makes its official retail debut today in an unusual soft launch that starts at 3rd party retailers and culminates with the full launch at Verizon Wireless on March 15th. The offer includes free shipping and is available for both new and current Verizon Wireless customers wanting to upgrade. Best Buy offering 5 Android smartphones for $99.99, no mail-in rebates needed

Best Buy offering 5 Android smartphones for $99.99, no mail-in rebates needed

Best Buy put out a release touting its selection of 5 Android smartphones that are available for $99.99 this holiday season. The HTC Hero and Samsung Moment are down to $99.99 from Sprint’s normal $179.99.  T-Mobile’s myTouch 3G and Motorola CLIQ are down to $99.99 from $149.99 and $199.99, respectively.  Best Buy is also offering the HTC DROID Eris for $99.99, which is the same as Verizon, but Best Buy notes that with any of its phones, there are no mail-in rebates to deal with to get the good prices. Oddly, the press release doesn’t mention when the prices go …

Best Buy to offer Sprint’s HTC Hero – no mail-in rebate required

Best Buy to offer Sprint’s HTC Hero – no mail-in rebate required

Not big news here, really, but Best Buy announced today that it, too, will offer Sprint’s HTC Hero for sale come October 11.  The upside of buying from Best Buy, however, is that all of the rebates are instant, so the phone costs you US$179 up front and that’s it.  Sprint offers the same $150 worth of rebates to get to the end $179 price, but $100 of that rebate is in the form of a mail-in rebate. So buy from Best Buy and you won’t have to deal with the stupid mail-in rebate, you’ll just get the end price …

Source: Sam’s Club, Costco, and Best Buy to offer T-Mobile G1 – maybe for $99

Source: Sam’s Club, Costco, and Best Buy to offer T-Mobile G1 – maybe for $99

I’ve just been tipped off by a source at Radio Shack that the T-Mobile G1 will be available in kiosks in Sam’s Club stores, Costco stores, and at Best Buy. Radio Shack owns the cell phone kiosks that are operated in Sam’s Club stores, but has no affiliation at all with Costco and Best Buy. The big news, perhaps, is the cost. While I can’t say how much Costco and Best Buy plan to charge for the G1, the Sam’s Club kiosks will be selling it for less than T-Mobile’s $179 price according to a an internal Radio Shack memo …
