Lara Croft: Relic Run

The first Tomb Raider game recently launched on Android for just $.99, and it looks like Lara Croft fans will soon get another dose of adventure. Announced earlier today on the official Tomb Raider Tumblr page, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics are bringing a new endless runner to Android, iOS and Windows Phone sometime in the future. Dubbed Lara Croft: Relic Run, the game will offer players a nostalgic feeling paired with modern and addicting endless runner gameplay.

The Tomb Raider team explains:

Many of you have correctly mused that Relic Run is an adventure runner, and at its core it is, but we feel that it’s much more than that. Relic Run offers a massive amount of diversity in play, allowing for seamless transitions between acrobatic-inspired running, combat, vehicles, and epic boss fights, including but not limited to the return of the infamous T-Rex.

It looks like Lara Croft: Relic Run will be similar to the Temple Run series, requiring players to dodge a ton of obstacles while switching between running, swinging and more. The images attached above are the only photos we have of the game so far, but there are already a few videos on YouTube showing off the gameplay. Even though it’s not official yet, check out the trailer below:

The game has been soft launched on both iOS and Android in The Netherlands this morning, and will make its way to the three major smartphone platforms globally “in the coming months”. If you’re not sold yet, the game will be free when it launches. Stay tuned for more coverage in the coming months as we learn more details about this awesome game.
