Update: The Alcatel 3c is official. The device has been launched in Italy with a price tag of €130 (around $160). It will likely make its way to other European markets shortly, where it should be priced similarly.

Rumors about the device specifications turned out to be true. Alcatel’s latest handset sports a 6-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, the MediaTek MT8321 chipset, and 1 GB of RAM.

Specs that we previously didn't know include dual-SIM support, a 3,000 mAh battery, and a 5 MP selfie snapper. The device comes in black, blue, or gold. Any takers?

Original story (January 11): Alcatel gave us a sneak peek at three of its upcoming smartphones at CES in Las Vegas. Likely called the Alcatel 5, 3v, and 1x, they will make their official debut at MWC in Barcelona next month.

However, they aren’t the only new smartphones the company plans on announcing soon. Images of the Alcatel 3c have recently popped up online courtesy of Slashleaks, showing the upcoming handset from all angles.

Like the rest of Alcatel’s 2018 lineup, the 3c will feature an 18:9 display and a minimalistic yet eye-catching design. The specs of the device were leaked a couple of weeks ago, so we also know what it could bring to the table.

The device’s hardware won’t blow your socks off, but it’s price might. It’s said to come with a 6-inch HD+ display, the MediaTek MT8321 chipset, and 1 GB of RAM. The 3c could also sport 16 GB of expandable storage, an 8 MP primary camera with LED flash, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. According to WinFuture, it may retail for only €120 ($145) in Europe, making it one of the cheapest smartphones with an 18:9 display.

The Alcatel 3c will likely make its debut at MWC along with a few other smartphones, although it’s possible the company will speed things up and announce it sometime before the trade show in Barcelona kicks off.
