How to Root and Install Custom Recovery in Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 – Tutorial

To all existing and new users of  the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000: better start checking out our how-to of installing the ClockworkMod
recovery and rooting for your device.

These procedures are listed in the details, after which do these steps, which are as easy as 1, 2, 3. After a few clicks and tweaks, you’re good to go!

Requirements:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note N7000
  • Computer
  • USB Data Cable
  1. First, download this Complete Rooting Package file.
  2. Then, extract it to a new folder via Winzip/Winrar.
  3. Next, double click the Odin Flash Tool to run the Program.
  4. Enable USB Debugging on your device. On your homescreen, tap Menu > Settings > Application > Development, then click on USB Debugging.
  • Turn off your device.
  • Turn it On  by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and while holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Now your device should enter download mode. 
  • Connect your device to your computer via USB Data Cable.
  • The Odin program will recognize your phone and you will see that the ID : COM section will turn yellow, which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully installed. 
  • Next, click the PDA tab and search for the netchip-cwm-update2.tar file you extracted earlier 
  • Then click the START button. Now the rooting process will begin. 
  • When finished, your device should restart by itself. Restart it manually if it doesn’t.
  • After that, your phone is finally rooted. Congratulations!
  • To install custom recovery follow the steps below:
    1. First download this Custom Recovery Image 
    2. Then connect your phone to your computer via USB Data Cable.
    3. Next copy the downloaded .zip file to the root of your SDcard.
    4. Disconnect your phone to your computer.
    5. Turn off your phone.
    6. Now go to recovery mode by pressing the center button and Power the device.
    7. When your in recovery mode select install zip from SD Card.
    8. Then search and select Superuser-3.0.6-efgh-signed.zip to install it.
    9. Once it’s Finished go back and reboot your device.
    10. You now have a Custom Recovery.
