There are thousands of apps currently available on the Google Play Store, and many of them do much of the same thing. Whether it be galleries, video playback, cameras, or any other type of application, they can all be used to accomplish fairly specific tasks. So wouldn’t it be nice if you were able to select which apps you wanted to use to do different kinds of things? Fortunately, OnePlus has included a setting within their apps menu that allows you to choose which default app will perform an action.

To do this, first go to the settings menu. From here, scroll down the the “Apps” menu under “Personal” This will show you all of your apps and how much storage they use, but what you’re really looking for here is the gear menu in the top right. This menu will bring you to app permissions, but will also give you a menu of default apps for each type of action. You’ll be able to change which apps open links, and you can change individual defaults such as your SMS and browser apps as well.

While the system will likely ask you which app you want to use the first time you install a redundant one, it’s nice to have this menu just in case you want to change them at any given time.
