Google has quietly added a new feature to Photos that will surely bring a smile to the faces of pet owners across the world. The service is able to gather images of your dog and make a short clip that it calls “Doggie Movie”. This has been reported by numerous users on Reddit, some of which also said that the feature works for cats as well.

To make it even better to watch, Google adds a song to the video (The Blue Danube Waltz) accompanied by dogs barking or cats meowing, which is quite entertaining. You can see the final product below.

Thanks to machine learning and computer vision, Google Photos is capable of detecting objects in images such as animals, vehicles, and a many others. This means it could possibly apply this technology to make other videos in the future. It could, for example, recognize sports activities on photos and make short video clips containing images of you playing basketball.
