Let us know whether your Galaxy Tab 10.1 is running Android Ice Cream Sandwich already. In case it does, then a new tedious waiting period begins for the Jelly Bean update. After all, Samsung is yet to reveal its Android 4.1 rollout plans.

  • ffcwickford

Upgraded mine in the last half hour – based in the UK (P7510)

I’m glad I won my GTab 10.1 in a contest because if I had paid for it I would be pissed at the wait for ICS. As it stands now I’m putting it up for sale and getting a Nexus 7.

  • Withnail

In the UK with a GT P7510 and still no update. Do they do it in some kind of order?

  • Hmm still waiting in the UK

  • Ice cream sandwich has destroyed my 2 week old phone!!!

  • Faunit

    is it in canada?!?!?

  • F bloody Samsung! No update for Norwegian users! I just dont really know why Samsung is not pushing this bloody update for all over the world. Only one country get dat god dam update and the rest can get their hands on their pants and start masturbate until Samsung push to their country.

    Frustrated fan!

    • samsung-is-real-shit

They don’t have knowledge and resources.

  • Lehis

No update in Finland yet. Why can’t they invent a global switch..

  • west

No update yet for me yet in the uk tab 10.1 wifi model? Any one else having problems? Mine says no update available. Not tried via kies yet though.

Needless to say this is my last Samsung tablet, in fact, I’ll be ordering a Nexus shortly. I’m sorry Samsung but when I buy a premium product I expect at least a couple of firmware upgrades in the product cycle. No chance of us getting a timely ICS update here in New Zealand, utter garbage!

  • reigouki

Not really sure why you’re wailing on Samsung about this. Firmware updates during the cycle? I recall at least 2 updates to Honeycomb. You want more, go bang on Google/Android for not issuing anymore for Samsung to update your device. Honestly, the boffins learnt everything they needed from Honeycomb and 4.x is where they put their effort in. Samsung has promised ICS will be rolled out to ALL those tablets mentioned so you’ll get it eventually, wherever you are. Don’t fret. I’m just hoping that the tablet is at least quick with ICS.

Reason the Italians got it first could range anywhere from having the least number of modifications needed to apply to the stock ICS to just being the first to finish in the lab. The 7500 is the 3G model so it could even include reasons such as least number of users screwing up the upgrade process by referencing what happened during the S2 ICS update.

I’m personally a little worried about when mine’ll be updated since I’m not sure the precise origin of my 10.1″, with only the 2 parallel prongs on the adapter to go on. If it was a US model… not liking that prospect given one of their dinky patent judges banned sales of the 10.1 again recently thanks to Apple’s meddling. Hoping mine’s an asian model at this point…

As for getting a Nexus to combat the slow distribution of new OSes, it’s not too bad an option if you have committed, or are prepared to commit, funds to Google Play and other places to permit the use of some of the software that otherwise came packaged such as Quick Office. If you didn’t use them, even better for you.

  • Will all my application still present if i update honeycomb to sandwich

  • I hav galaxy tab 10.1 3g & wi fi.i want to upgrade to ice cream sandwhich but afraid if it will just destroy my device.pls giv me advice.

  • Just checked with Kies to make sure ! Nope. Nothing so far in Canada… (P7510)

  • DarthVader

I am from Australia, no update for my p7500. This will be my last Samsung tablet.

  • Same as everyone else… More than (eight months and) a week later, still no update in Switzerland (baseband P7500XXKL3). Won’t use Cyanogen killing GPS, 3G and camera (or whatever). My patience is at an end. At this stage I’m pretty sure that I won’t buy another Samsung tablet in the future (or phones: the S3 is pretty cool but who knows about the product lifecycle?)

  • Just tonight, I installed Kies on my PC…I connected my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it told me a firmware upgrade was available. I did the upgrade and discovered it was ICS, version 4.04…I am in the USA, so apparently no push upgrades yet, but it can be had through Kies….I am happy…

  • Am in ghana and i use the galaxy tab 10.1 GT-P7500 WIGI + 3G, can i upgrade from honeycomb to the new ice cream sandwich now? And exactly how do i do that?

  • bigfreeze

I have the pics 4.0.4 running on my Samsung galaxy tab 2. I received this update from Samsung about 3 weeks ago. My tablet is so much better then the first version of pics. The touch screen is much smoother and more responsive. I like it so much now, I sold my iPad. I hope everyone else out there receives their update too. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!!

  • bigfreeze

    Pics = ics

  • For the record: my Samsung P-7500 still isn’t running Icecream sandwich. Kies has never worked properly and support is slow to respond to any request or question.
I am sorry to say that based on the poor support and lack of company service in this matter, I cannot recommend a Samsung device to anyone.

  • zankproductions
