Another day, another Samsung handset receives an Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update. Today it is the turn of the Galaxy Note Edge (SM-N915G), which has begun receiving its Lollipop OTA update in Australia.

The update weighs in at a hefty 1018.12 MB, but does come with Samsung’s new Material Design inspired user interface, new notification and multitasking systems, Smart Lock, and a host of other improvements to performance and battery life. If you haven’t seen Lollipop running on the Galaxy Note Edge yet, you can check out the leaked details that appeared earlier in the month.

Australians who haven’t received an update notification yet can force a manual check through Settings > About phone > Software update. If you know what you’re doing, SamMobile also has the firmware available for download, which can then be flashed with Odin.

The update should be heading out to other regions in the coming weeks as well.
