Connecting a smartphone to a wired cord with a tiny USB-based dongle can still be a pain, after all these years. Thankfully, more and more smartphones are embracing wireless charging technology, which allows you to keep your phone powered up by just placing it on a pad or stand. Some of the more prominent current phones on the market that can use wireless charging accessories natively include the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus , the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the LG G6 and the Motorola Moto Z and Moto Z Force.

The good news is that there are a variety of wireless charging pads, stands and even car mounts to choose from, and the following products are what we think are the best of the current lineup, for a variety of reasons. All of these wireless chargers support the Qi wireless charging platform, which has now emerged as the main technology standard for these kinds of products.

Choetech Fast Charge Wireless Charger Stand

The Choetech Fast Charge Wireless Charger Stand is one of the few third-party devices you can buy that supports Fast Charge Mode, which is great if you have bought the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the Galaxy Note 5, and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. When placed on the Choetech stand, all of those phones will charge up to 1.4 times faster than other Qi-based phones.

The design of the charger stand allows phones to be placed either in portrait or landscape mode, and it has two wireless charging coils inside that offer a wide charging area. You can keep using your phone on the stand to watch videos or just surf the net while it charges up. Keep in mind that while the stand also comes with a micro USB charger cord, you will have to purchase a separate AC adapter to connect it to your wall power outlet. The Choetech Fast Charge Wireless Charger Stand is currently available on Amazon for $19.99.

Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stand

Samsung’s own wireless charging stand supports all of the phones that use the Qi standard. Like the Choetech stand, Samsung’s product also supports the Fast Charge feature for its own Qi phones, but it can also charge up any of the other Qi-based smartphones at standard speeds. It also includes a wall charger, unlike the Choetech stand.
However, the Samsung wireless charging stand is a bit more expensive than the Choetech product. Amazon is selling the black version of the Samsung stand at $36.71, and versions of the stand in other colors such as silver, gold and white are priced even higher. It’s up to you to see if you want to get the brand name at a higher price, but it may be worth it if you own a Samsung Qi-based phone.

Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Convertible Stand

The big difference between this product and the standard Samsung Wireless Charging Stand that we mentioned earlier is that this product can actually switch from a stand to a flat pad position. This allow owners to just place their Samsung Qi-based phone, or any Qi product, flat to begin charging, just in case they don’t want or need to stand the phone up. Like the other Samsung wireless charging products, this one also comes with Fast Charge support and a wall adapter. The Convertible Stand is also covered in a leather-like material, which is supposed to make it blend in better in a home environment.
However, the Samsung Wireless Charging Convertible Stand is also even more expensive than the standard stand. Amazon is currently pricing it at $54.85. Again, if you want to have a stand that can also be used as a flat pad, and has a somewhat different material, you will have to pay more to snap it up.

Kroma Wireless Charging Pad

This charging pad is about as bare bones of a product as you can get in this category. It does not support Fast Charging, and it can’t convert to a stand mode. The Kroma Wireless Charging Pad is just a small device that can charge up your Qi-based phone wirelessly at standard speeds.

So why is it on this list? The Kroma Wireless Charging Pad is also dirt cheap. Amazon is currently selling it for just $9.99. At the moment, there’s nothing else that’s lower in price. This makes the Kroma perfect for people who want to perhaps buy multiple wireless charging pads for the home, or perhaps to take one out on the road.

Anker Fast Wireless Charger Charging Pad

The Anker company is one of the biggest in terms of offering charging accessories for smartphones. Its wireless charger has a large amount of space to put your Qi-based phone on top, and it even comes with an LED light that is supposed to show the current charging status.

The “Fast” part of this product’s title comes from the fact that the Anker product can support Fast Charging on those Samsung Qi phones. However, you will also need to purchase a separate wall charger from Anker in order to add this support. Otherwise, this accessory is a solid wireless pad to purchase for the reasonable price of $19.99.

TYLT VU Wireless Phone Charging Pad

This has a rather unique design for a wireless charging product. The TYLT VU is actually more of a stand that allow you to place your Qi-based phone in either a portrait or landscape mode for charging. As you can see, the form factor of the product is also very attractive.

While it doesn’t support any Fast Charge features, the TYLT VU seems to be a good compromise between a traditional flat pad and a more vertical stand product. It’s also priced right at just $21 for the blue version at Amazon. You can also get the black version at $21.99 and the yellow model at $23. However, it looks like the red color version is harder to get; you will have to spend $39.99 to get your hands on that model.

Rodzon Car Holder and Wireless 2-in-1 Phone Mount

Wouldn’t it be great to have the convenience of charging your phone wirelessly while you are driving? Well, Rodzon is selling a phone car mount that also happens to double as a wireless charging stand. The product comes with adapters that allow the mount to be placed on a car’s air vent, or on top of the front dashboard with a suction mount.

Connecting the mount to a car’s charging connection (or in newer vehicles via a USB port) allows it to also become a wireless charger for your smartphone. You can even remove the mount from the car after you get home from work and connect it to a wall outlet so that it can also serve as a more conventional wireless charging stand. Amazon is currently selling the Rodzon car phone holder and charger for $29.99.

Ikea Nordmärke Triple Pad Wireless Charging Pad

Yes, Ikea is selling its own Qi-based wireless charging pad. The company best known for their DIY furniture products also sells this device. There are a couple of interesting features that make Ikea’s product stand out. One is its design, with its wood-like surface that allows it to blend in with other parts of the house. The other interesting part of the pad is that it’s large enough so you can place as many as three Qi-based phones on the pad and have them charge up at the same time.

As you might imagine, you will have to spend some extra money to get this Ikea pad. The cheapest price is about $70, but it can go even higher. If you want something cheaper, you can get a similar, but smaller, pad from Ikea that only charges one smartphone, but retains the wood-like finish, for $44.99.

There are certainly a lot more wireless charging pads and stands out on the market, and more are going on sale all the time. We want to hear from you if you think we missed a product that needs to be on this list, or if something new comes along that you believe deserves to be included in our best wireless chargers guide.
