The subject of baby apps is a touch one to deal with. There are a ton of apps that are useful for babies. You can find apps that help parents. Likewise, there are apps specifically for babies. We tried our best to get a little bit of both worlds in this list. The apps for parents generally help you keep track of your baby. Meanwhile, baby apps are usually super simple because babies don’t have a ton of coordination or motor skills yet. Here are the best baby apps for Android.

Baby Doodle
Price: Free
Baby Doodle is a super simple drawing app for babies. The app features a few different brush sizes, several different colors, and a neat rainbow option that was oddly fun to play with even as an adult. It supports multi-touch drawing, and there are security measures to keep the app open so your baby doesn’t wreck your phone. Perhaps the neatest part is that it saves images as a screenshot. Doing it that way allows the app to have zero permissions, not even read/write permissions on the phone, making it 100% safe for young kids.

Baby Puzzles
Price: Free / $0.99
Baby Puzzles is probably best for older babies. It features a bunch of very easy puzzles. Basically, the baby just has to match the shapes. It also comes with interactive sounds and an easy interface. There are puzzles for the alphabet, various animals, emotions, colors, musical instruments, and more. The free version of the app contains some advertising. You can get rid of that by getting the full version for $0.99. It’s pretty good for what it is, but we recommend buying the ad free version if you like it to prevent any accidental ad presses. People with Google Play Pass can use this one for free as well.
Dormy
Price: Free trial / $0.99 per month / $8.99
Dormi is one of the great baby apps. It’s also probably the best baby monitor app out there. It boasts good functionality on almost every type of web connection. In some cases, you don’t even need a web connection. It also supports both audio and video monitoring. The free version gives you four hours per month to try it out. You can get the $0.99 per month subscription to unlock all of the features. Similarly, you can pay $8.99 one time for a lifetime license. We highly recommend the lifetime license. If you don’t like this one, Bibino is a newer option that seems to do pretty good as well.

First Words for Baby apps
Price: Free / $1.99 each
First Words for Baby is a series of baby apps by Androbaby. Each one has a different theme. There is one for animals, sounds, colors, vehicles, and food. There is also one that is a small mix of all of the others. Each one works about the same. There are little baby flashcards that show a word, the sound it makes, and an image of that thing. Each app is free to download with advertising. You can remove the ads for $1.99 in each app.
iHeartRadio Family
Price: Free
iHeartRadio Family is one of the newer baby apps that we’d recommend. It works a lot like the regular iHeartRadio app. The only difference is the music selection. This one has music just for kids. It has music from popular shows like Dora the Explorer and others. It even includes a Disney station for new and classic songs from movies. It’s especially excellent for car rides. It’s completely free to use with no in-app purchases.

Kids Balloon Pop
Price: Free / $3.49
Babies are small, clumsy, and lack fine motor skills. Finding games for them can be difficult. Something like Kids Balloon Pop may be a good answer. The idea of this game is to pop balloons on the screen. That means all your baby has to do is hammer on the screen to play this one. There are a few play modes. However, anything other than the normal mode may be a bit much until they’re older. The free version contains about half of the content of the full version. The full version runs for $3.49.
Netflix
Price: Free / $8.99-$15.99 per month
Netflix is a great option for just about everyone. It has a bunch of shows for adults. However, it also has a kids mode. It removes all of the non-kid-friendly content. That makes it easier for you to pick something age-appropriate for your baby. The prices don’t change if you decide to use this mode. Many people already have Netflix. It’s just a matter of making a kids profile. It’s definitely among the best baby apps. Of course, with Disney+ launching in late 2019, that may be the better option because of all of the Disney movies.
PBS Kids Video
Price: Free
PBS Kids Video is another great video network for babies. There is a ton of kid friendly content with more added every week. The shows are fun, educational, and entertaining. It is supported by advertising. That only shows briefly at the beginning of full length videos. PBS Kids actually has a bunch of kids apps. However, most of them are going to be too advanced for babies. Perhaps when they get older. All of it is free, of course.
Xisle Sensory Play
Price: Free / Up to $1.99
Xisle Sensory Play is a fun little baby game. It’s a sensory experience with a bunch of colors and interactive elements. The phone vibrates when touching the game screen and there are also a bunch of sound effects. You can choose how many fish and what kinds of fish appear on the screen along with some other customization options. Babies can control where fish swim and use the gyroscope for more controls. The game also uses screen pinning to prevent the baby from leaving the game and getting into trouble elsewhere in the phone.

YouTube Kids
Price: Free / $12.99 per month
YouTube Kids is YouTube for kids. It works a lot like Netflix’s Kids profile. It removes all of the content that isn’t suitable for children. What’s left is a bunch of videos both short and long for your kids. Some of them are entertaining, some are educational, and some are both. You can remove ads if you happen to be a YouTube Red subscriber. There are a few glitches in the system here and there. However, it’s a great place to find even more video content for babies.
