For quite some time, Boost Mobile has offered low-priced off-contract phones, and it looks like they’ve just announced another inexpensive offering. The ZTE Speed is the newest handset to land on the Sprint-powered network, and boasts decent specs for the price. The Speed offers a 4.5-inch LCD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a removable 2000mAh battery, and 8GB of on-board storage with microSD card expansion up to 32GB. It also brings a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, 4G LTE compatibility, and it runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Obviously these aren’t the best specifications on a smartphone to date, but we think the price makes up for it. Boost Mobile is offering this device for only $99.99! The device can be purchased on Boost Mobile’s website beginning today, and will be available in-store beginning sometime in January.
Not too long ago, the carrier announced their popular Data Boost Plans would receive a discount, but only temporarily. Alongside the announcement of the Speed, Boost has also made official that the temporary discounts to their plans would become permanent. So, an extra $35 will get you unlimited talk, text and 1GB of data per month… not a bad deal at all!
