Xiaomi has been slowly expanding its product portfolio in India over the last couple of years. Beyond its excellent smartphones, you can buy smart home products, audio devices, backpacks, luggage, and even a rollerball pen. However, even this barely scratches the surface of the wide variety of products that Xiaomi sells in China.

The great news is that Xiaomi’s ever-growing fanbase will now have access to even more of its offerings with the newly launched Xiaomi ShareSave app. How does ShareSave work and what kind of exciting products can you get your hands on? Here’s everything you need to know about Xiaomi ShareSave!

What is Xiaomi ShareSave?

According to Xiaomi, ShareSave is “cross-border e-commerce platform [that] aims to offer users outside of Chinese mainland a convenient and cost-effective way to purchase ecosystem products that have only been available within Chinese mainland.” It’s basically an online store with social features.

ShareSave lets you buy products from the over 100 companies Xiaomi has incubated or invested in, known collective as Xiaomi’s hardware ecosystem.

Where is Xiaomi ShareSave available?

Currently, Xiaomi has only launched ShareSave in India. The company said this is only the first step and more countries will get access to the platform in the future.

Getting started with Xiaomi ShareSave

You can download the Xiaomi ShareSave app from the Google Play Store. You can sign in to the app easily if you already have a Mi account. If not, you’ll have to create an account by registering with an e-mail address and phone number. You get a code by SMS to verify your phone number. There have been a few reports that sometimes the verification code doesn’t arrive and multiple attempts may be required. After getting done with the quick registration process, you’re ready to start shopping on ShareSave!

The Xiaomi ShareSave app

The ShareSave app is divided into four sections – Home, Drop, Kickstart, and Account – with the first three housing a variety of products for purchase and various deals that you can take advantage of.

Home

The Home section includes a wide range of products like electric shavers, Bluetooth keyboards, mouse pads, electric toothbrushes, electric mops, handheld vacuum cleaners, smart LED bulbs, hair dryers, air fresheners, blenders, water bottles, and a whole lot more. It’s almost an “anything and everything” kind of situation, and the product list is only going to grow from here.

These are all products offered by companies from Xiaomi’s sprawling hardware ecosystem. Previously, most of these products were not easily accessible to customers outside of China.

You can simply tap on the “Buy” button to purchase a product. You’ll also notice a “Pair to save” discount listed with every device. What this lets you do is invite a friend or family member to buy the same product. If they do within 24 hours, you get a decent discount on the original price. The size of the discount varies from product to product, but no one’s going to complain about any sort of savings.

Drop

The Drop section provides another excellent way to enjoy significant discounts on different devices, anywhere from 50% to even completely free. This essentially takes the “Pair to save” concept to a whole other level. You can join a large group of people who are also interested in the same device and once the user threshold is met, you get to buy the item at the discounted rate or get it for free. The number of products in this section is limited and refreshes at noon every day.

Kickstart

Finally, there’s the Kickstart section. You can back interesting, innovative projects that will be listed in the Home section if the goal is reached. You can back a project with a low deposit of just $0.2. Backing a project will also get you a $2 shopping coupon that can be used to buy the product that you backed. Current projects include a robot builder, a vacuum cleaning robot, an electric scooter, and more.

Account

The Account section is where you’ll find your account information and everything related to any orders you may have placed, including processing, shipping, and other delivery details. You can also find a lot of useful coupons in the “My Coupons” section of various dollar amounts that you can avail and use to get a discount on anything you want to buy.

Payment and delivery information

You can use all major credit and debit cards to make purchases through Xiaomi ShareSave. UPI and netbanking can also be used with over 50 banks supported. The pricing displayed for the products include any associated import fees. Another point to remember is that since all payments made are cross-border payments, your PAN (Permanent Account Number) card will also be required when you are checking out.

Standard delivery will take 5-10 business days and you can track your order in the Account section. Having a valid ID proof is also necessary when placing an order to guarantee delivery. For now, accepted ID proof includes your Aadhar card and Passport.

Every Xiaomi ShareSave order is placed individually and will include shipping fees. However, if multiple orders are placed within 6 hours and have the same recipient, delivery address, and contact phone number, and the order total is above $69, you will be eligible for free shipping. Since shipping fees are already charged, the cumulative fees will then be refunded within 10 business days.
