Original article: December 8, 2020 (1:20 AM ET): Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new “power-packed” phone in India rumored to be the Redmi 9 Power.
The company recently unveiled a host of new Redmi Note 9 series devices in China and the Redmi 9 Power is believed to be a rebranded version of the new Redmi Note 9 4G model. The phone was also recently spotted on the Google Play Console, revealing its Snapdragon 662 chipset, the same as the aforementioned Chinese Redmi Note 9 model.

However, Redmi’s teaser page for the upcoming device shows that it’ll feature a quad rear camera setup led by a 48MP shooter. The Chinese Redmi Note 9 model features three rear cameras, so it looks like the company is tweaking things up a bit for the Indian version of the phone.
Redmi hasn’t announced a set launch date, but we’re guessing it’s not too far away. Xiaomi is also expected to launch its Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G in India as the Mi 10i, but there’s no official update on that as of now.
