Mi Soundbar

After disrupting the smart TV market and introducing a slew of what it calls ‘ecosystem products’ in India, Xiaomi has now ventured into a new category in the market with its Mi Soundbar.

Mi Soundbar aims to provide a premium sound experience at an affordable price. Available only in white, it sports a minimalist and elegant look that aligns with other ecosystem products by Xiaomi like the Mi Air Purifier.

Mi Soundbar packs in eight drivers – two 20mm dome speakers to transmit high-frequency sounds, two 2-5-inch woofers to reproduce a natural sound, and four passive radiators for a deep, enhanced base. The passive radiators do not emit any sound by themselves but add the thump in your music.

Mi Soundbar connectivity

The Mi Soundbar is simple to set up and pair with your devices, and offers an array of connectivity options – Bluetooth 4.2, S/PDIF, Optical, Line-in, and 3.5mm aux-in – essentially allowing a breadth of devices to connect seamlessly.

Priced at 4,999 rupees ($71), the Mi Soundbar will go on sale on January 16 noon exclusively on Mi.com and across Mi Home stores.

New Mi TVs as well

Mi LED TV

Of course, Xiaomi also introduced two new televisions in its growing portfolio of smart TVs in India. In less than a year since its debut, Xiaomi has become the leader in the smart TV market in India according to IDC.

Like the predecessors, the Mi TV 4X Pro (55) and Mi TV 4A Pro (43) come with Xiaomi’s proprietary TV interface – Patchwall – along with Android TV with Google services packed in. Like the other Mi TVs, these two too come with Bluetooth-enabled remote controls with support for voice input for Google Assistant.

The 55-inch 4X Pro sports a 4K UHD panel while the 43-inch 4A Pro sports a 1080p panel, with support for HDR content. Both TVs pack in a 10-bit panel for true color reproduction.

Both Mi TV 4X Pro (55) and Mi TV 4A Pro (43) will be sold exclusively on Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores starting noon on January 15 at a price of 39,999 rupees ($568) and 22,999 rupees ($326) respectively. While the 55-inch 4X Pro is a new addition to the portfolio, the 4A Pro replace the existing 43-inch Mi TV 4A.
