There are plenty of options on the market if you want to make sure you always have some extra power for your smartphone, and there’s a growing trend in power packs that support USB Type-C for the most up-to-date gadgets. Xiaomi is joining the mix with its newly announced Mi Powerbank Pro, which features a USB Type-C connector port and a whopping 10,000mAh capacity.

This Mi Powerbank Pro is clearly designed for customers planning to pick up Xiaomi’s new Mi 5 flagship, as it features a USB Type-C port. However, owners of the LG G5, Nexus 6P, 5X and the OnePlus 2 might also find this power bank rather useful. As well as the new port, the pack supports fast charging with 5V/2A, 9V/2A, and 12V/1.5A configurations, meaning that you can charge up devices and the power pack itself much faster than before. Xiaomi states that the pack can be charged up in three and a half hours using fast charging, which is 40 percent faster than using a regular 5V/2A charger.

Xiaomi has made a few other changes with its latest power pack too. The Mi Powerbank Pro is lighter and smaller than before, weighing 223 grams and reaching just 1.26 cm thick. Best of all, Xiaomi is selling the pack for just 149 Yuan, which works out to $23 or Rs. 1532. The product has only been announced for China so far, but we imagine that it will show up at Xiaomi’s global accessory stores soon enough.
