The Xiaomi Mi Mix series usually focuses on design, and it seems like this trend is continuing with the Mi Mix 4. Xiaomi’s latest Mix phone is the company’s first with an under-display selfie camera, while also offering a ceramic back.

There’s more to the phone than a slick design though, but do Android Authority readers think Xiaomi has a hit on its hands? We asked readers what they thought of the Mi Mix 4, and here’s how they voted.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4: Hot or not?

Results

The poll was posted on August 10, accruing 2,000 votes in the process. Fortunately for Xiaomi, an overwhelming number of polled readers (84.75%) say the new phone is indeed “hot.”

We can’t say we’re surprised by this result, as the phone does bring a fair amount to the table. There’s a 120Hz FHD+ OLED screen, Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset, a flexible triple rear camera (including a 5X periscope camera), a 4,500mAh battery, 120W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging.

Just over 15% of respondents gave the Mi Mix 4 a thumbs-down though. At least one reader comment suggests that the more expensive Mi 11 Ultra or China-only Mi 11 Pro could be a better deal. The Ultra and Pro offer higher quality cameras on paper, bigger batteries, an IP68 rating instead of IP53 on the Mix 4, and higher resolution screens.

Nevertheless, Xiaomi previously confirmed that this was a China-only release, so maybe it should consider a global launch of sorts? Then again, the company isn’t able to keep up with demand in China right now.

Comments

  • TheOracle: Definitely hot. Good looking and ticks all the boxes for me. I can overlook the lack of a headphone jack in this case.
  • mattc: The hottest phone yet
  • Wongwatt: Well it’s China only so it will need importing, It also has a relatively poor camera array, a lower resolution display and lower water resistance rating than the Mi11 range so I’m a bit confused. If you’re not obsessed with the under display camera I guess the Mi11 Pro is a better import choice?
  • Bryant Allen: I got the oppo Find X2Pro and the Note 20 Ultra. Both phones have over a 90% screen to body ratio. This phone looks nice but, its got nothing on the Find X2Pro or the Note 20 Ultra.
