Like most smartphones, there are numerous ways you can capture a screenshot with the Xiaomi Mi 9. If you’re looking to share something or simply save the information that is on your phone screen, here’s how to take a screenshot on the Xiaomi Mi 9!
Xiaomi Mi 9 screenshot method #1 – Hardware buttons
This is the universal method of taking a screenshot that works on any and every recent Android smartphone.
- Make sure that the information you want to capture is aligned properly on the screen.
- Press and hold the volume down and power buttons simultaneously. This shouldn’t take more than a second, but keep the buttons pressed until you hear the camera shutter sound or see a screen capture animation.
- A preview of your screenshot will appear at the top corner of the screen for a few seconds. Tapping on this preview will allow you to perform additional functions like capture a scrolling screenshot, edit the captured image, or share it.
Xiaomi Mi 9 screenshot method #2 – Screenshot shortcut
Xiaomi has made it very easy to take a screenshot on its smartphones by including a conveniently placed screenshot shortcut.
- Swipe down from the top of the display to open the Quick Settings menu.
- Tap on the Screenshot icon.
- A preview of your screenshot will appear at the top corner of the screen for a few seconds. Tapping on this preview will allow you to perform additional functions like capture a scrolling screenshot, edit the captured image, or share it.
Xiaomi Mi 9 screenshot method #3 – Button and gesture shortcuts
Xiaomi offers a three finger swipe gesture as a way to capture a screenshot.
- To enable this setting, go to Settings -> Button and gesture shortcuts -> Take a screenshot. The three finger swipe gesture (swiping down from the top of the display) is enabled by default.
