$30 Xiaomi AirDots bring affordability to true wireless earbuds

As flagship phone prices continue to rise, true wireless earbuds are becoming more affordable. Take Xiaomi’s newest product: the AirDots. According to the company’s website, these earbuds operate on Bluetooth 5.0, feature basic playback and call controls via earbud touch panels, and a charging case.
The specs indicate that standalone battery life is four hours and that the charging case brings total playback time to 12 hours. What’s more, each earbud house a 7.2mm dynamic driver and weighs 4.2 grams.
While the earbuds can be reserved in China for 199 yuan, approximately $30, the Xiaomi AirDots have yet to receive a global release date. If they do come to the U.S. market though, they may earn a spot as a notable pair of cheap true wireless earbuds.
