There’s hardly a flagship phone right now that doesn’t offer wireless charging. Be it the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, the Pixel 7 duo, the iPhone 14 line, the Xiaomi 13 Pro, Oppo’s Find X5, and many more — wireless charging is a staple for premium devices. It can even be found on more affordable phones. However, one notable flagship gave it a pass this year — the OnePlus 11.

According to OnePlus, the 80W wired charging speed of the OnePlus 11 is fast enough that users won’t miss wireless charging. We’re seeing wired charging speeds increase almost every year. Realme even has a phone with 240W fast wired charging, maxing out the current capacity of USB-C. However, these super impressive charging numbers are not all they are made out to be, and no matter how fast a phone charges while hooked to a wire, wireless charging offers greater flexibility to users.
