- Voce is an upcoming app that will let listeners pull up interactive show notes while listening to podcasts.
- It should make it easier to find out more information about topics the podcast you are listening to is discussing.
- Voce is currently looking for people to test the beta version of the app.
Voce is an upcoming podcast player that hopes to improve your podcast listening experience by providing interactive show notes. According to a Reddit post by the creators of the app, Voce lets listeners pull up relevant websites, books, and images as they are mentioned in the episode of the podcast you are listening to.
While it doesn’t yet have a wide release, Voce is currently available for beta testers with a limited number of compatible podcasts.
The app has features including show notes that have been curated by experts, the ability to scroll through the timeline to replay important bits of audio, and voice recognition that automatically links to websites mentioned in the audio.
I’m a big podcast listener and can definitely relate to the experience of wanting more info on topics that the speakers are discussing. With that in mind, I decided to give the app a go.
First up, the app looks great and it’s easy to get started listening to one of the available podcasts. The show notes are all displayed in the player that opens up when you play a podcast. Should you want to take a deeper dive into what is being discussed, the notes also provide links to YouTube videos and other useful websites.
Each of the notes is also marked on the podcast’s timeline so you can easily click through to points of interest in the episode and play the podcast directly from the note.
As mentioned, Voce is still in beta, so plenty could change by the time it is given a full release. If you want to sign up to be a tester, click on the box below to sign up at Voce’s Google Play page.
