Verizon Motorola DROID MAXX 2 getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow update

Verizon has recently announced their Motorola DROID MAXX 2 is finally getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow, along with everything the newer Android version has to offer.

When the Motorola DROID MAXX 2 was announced back in October, we were promised an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Things can get pretty rocky on the road to an upgrade, especially when a carrier (this time Verizon) is in the middle of everything. We had no idea when the OTA update would arrive, but we have just learnt it’s time for the wait to end.

Verizon has recently announced their Motorola DROID MAXX 2 is finally getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow, along with everything the newer Android version has to offer. Included features are Doze Mode, Google Now on Tap, Direct Share and more.

Do keep in mind these updates often take a while to roll out to everybody. You may not see the notification yet, or you may have already gotten it. Regardless, we know nothing will stop you from checking for updates in the settings. Just try to keep it to a healthy level! Verizon advises that you connect your phone to a WiFi network and keep your battery fully charged before starting the update. After all, you don’t want to waste away all your data. And you definitely wouldn’t want your phone going off in the middle of an update; that could mean bad news.
