Twitter, one of the largest social networks in the world, has experienced its share of problems this year. It has recently killed off Vine, the short-form video app, and is still in the market for a new owner. Meanwhile, it seems like no one is interested in buying Twitter either.

In order to keep its existing users engaged and hopefully gain a few new ones, the company has recently been focusing on video content. Twitter, which already has an app on Apple TV, Fire TV, and Xbox One, has now also released an app for Android TV.

The app lets you watch various news and sports clips as well as live Periscope videos. Twitter also struck a deal with the NFL and streams live Thursday Night Football games to your big screen.

Additionally, you can check out the latest popular tweets, but you can’t post any through the app. Which does make sense, as it’s a lot easier to just pick up your smartphone to tweet than it is trying to share your thoughts in 140 characters with the help of a TV remote.

By venturing into video content, Twitter hopes to appeal to the masses even more. Having video apps for different platforms is, therefore, a must for the company. Hopefully, it will be able to make them even more interesting in the future by adding more features and even more video content.
