Watch the trailer for the first episode of Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy game
Ahead of its release later this week, Telltale Games has posted the trailer for the first episode of its next serialized adventure game Guardians of the Galaxy. As we have reported before, this game will be based on the Marvel Comics version of the sci-fi team, rather than the movie version of the same team.

The name of the first episode is “Tangled Up in Blue”, which happens to also be the title of a Bob Dylan song. Even though the game is based on the comic book version, it sounds like it will still have a lot of pop culture throwbacks and references like the movie versions.
The trailer shows that the Nova Corps is recruiting the Guardians to stop Thanos, who has plans to spread his evil across the galaxy. The Guardians, in return, want the Nova Corps to clear their previous criminal records. Their journey to stop the mad Titan will take them to a world controlled by the Kree race, according to the trailer. Little else is known about the game’s storyline, other than the fact that the Guardians find “an artifact of unspeakable power.”
The first episode of the five-episode series is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, April 18 for mobile, PC and console platforms. However, keep in mind that Telltale has a history of releasing games on the Android platform after they are available elsewhere.
In related news, James Gunn, the writer and director of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and the upcoming sequel (due in theaters on May 5) confirmed today he will return to write and direct the third movie in the series. A release date was not announced.
