TL;DR
  • Live images of a OnePlus 9 pre-production unit have leaked online.
  • The photos show a chunky camera bump and a triple primary camera setup.
  • The leak also reveals some additional specs of the phone.

The OnePlus 9 is still months away but it’s no stranger to us thanks to multiple leaks. Now an anonymous source has shared a series of images of an actual OnePlus 9 pre-production unit with PhoneArena along with some specs of the phone.

The publication got these OnePlus 9 images vetted by frequent OnePlus tipster Max Jambor, adding more weight to the authenticity of the leak.

The smartphone is pictured in a gray-silver finish with three camera sensors at the back. Two of them are fairly larger than the third one. Unfortunately, the publication could not obtain the specs for the cameras. Previous leaks suggest we could see a 48MP primary camera, a 48MP secondary shooter, and third a monochrome or macro sensor.

That logo on the back of the phone might seem unfamiliar and that’s because PhoneArena claims it’s OnePlus’ dedicated logo for the prototype unit. Of course, you can expect a OnePlus logo in its place on the final version of the phone.

On the front, the alleged OnePlus 9 unit features a punch hole on the top left corner of the screen. The leak mentions that the display measures 6.55 inches, which is what previous rumors have also ascertained.

PhoneArena reports that the OnePlus 9 will feature a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, Full HD+ resolution, and a 20:9 screen aspect ratio.

Elsewhere, the leak reveals that the OnePlus 9 includes the new Snapdragon 888 chipset as expected. This particular unit has 8GB RAM and 128GB of non-expandable internal storage. There’s Android 11 onboard accompanied by the Oxygen OS skin.

So there you have it. The OnePlus 9 months before its official launch. What are your thoughts about the design and specs of the phone? Let us know in the comments section below.
