The Witcher Adventure Game now available on Google Play
Anyone that loves RPG games has probably heard of The Witcher, with the highly anticipated third part of the series set to arrive on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC’s in February 2015. But Polish developer CD Projekt RED has decided to give us a little something new to hold us over before then, and has officially released digital board game The Witcher Adventure Game for Android on Google Play.
Like the original console and PC game, this Android digital board game is based on the book series from Andrzej Sapkowski, and on the board game developed by CD Projekt RED. You’ll once again play in the shoes of Geralt of Riviabe, protagonist of The Witcher series, and will be able to travel the world fighting monsters and solving puzzles. If just slaying monsters as Geralt isn’t your cup of tea, you will also be able to play 3 additional characters featured in the books/games, including sorceress Triss Merigold, warrior Yarpen Zigrin, and Dandelion the bard.
The game also has multiplayer, and contains lots of artwork straight from previous games of The Witcher series. You’ll also find “over 288 cards and 30 monsters” in the digital version of the game:
As this is a new release, there have been a lot of problems reported from users so far. Many have reported issues with the game running on Android Lollipop (an issue that some are now reporting has been addressed and fixed), as well as Android 4.4. Others report the game often crashes on startup, and has issues with saving games. So before you dish out the €5.49 (roughly $7) for this game, you might want to read some of the user reviews on Google Play to see if the issues have been patched, and if the game is running without problems on your device.
