Nearby Multiplayer is introduced to Google Play Games
Google Play Games has featured a multiplayer mode for quite some time, but the service is about to get even better now that Google is introducing Nearby Multiplayer to their gaming service.
In the newest Google Play Games update, users now have the ability to invite players that are physically nearby to their multiplayer sessions. Nearby Multiplayer won’t just show up on every one of your games, though. Developers need to first add in the new Google Play Games API to enable multiplayer, which may take some time.
This new feature allows developers to help create more local competitive and cooperative experiences. It’s definitely a step in the right direction for online mobile gaming, and we’re excited to see what developers can do to enhance this new feature.
